A mountain within the earth: greatness that does not need to be seen.

The mountain stands hidden inside the ground — height carried without display. Modesty is the only hexagram the old commentators found favourable in every line: the balancing force that levels what is swollen and augments what is lowly. Its counsel is proportion — finish more than you announce, weigh things evenly, let understatement do your advertising. The modest carry further because nothing about them provokes the weather.
