An obstacle sits between the jaws, and the counsel is to bite cleanly through it. This hexagram concerns obstructions that do not dissolve on their own — an unresolved matter, an unaddressed unfairness, a knot everyone walks around. Energetic clarity, applied once and lawfully, restores the flow that politeness could not. Its counsel is proportionate firmness: name the issue exactly, act decisively, and let the penalty fit the case precisely.
