The lake resting on the mountain: attraction through openness and stillness.
The still mountain holds the joyous lake on its summit — strength below, openness above, the courtship hexagram. Influence describes attraction that works by receptivity: the mountain does not chase the water; it makes a place where water gathers. Its counsel is genuine openness without agenda — keep the heart unoccupied by schemes, and the right people, offers and ideas approach on their own. Wooing done by stillness outlasts wooing done by pursuit.
