Opposition
Fire over the lake, moving apart: estrangement that small common ground can bridge.
Fire rises while the lake sinks — two natures diverging, the hexagram of estrangement. Opposition is honest about difference: some gulfs are real and will not close by pretending. Yet its counsel is hopeful in miniature — great undertakings fail across this gap, small ones succeed. Find the modest shared task, the single agreed fact, and work from there. Even opposites, the old text notes, are how the world gets its complementarity.
