Limitation
Water measured by the lake: limits that give life shape, set with humanity.
The lake holds a definite measure of water — enough, and not more. Limitation praises the articulated life: bamboo grows strong by its joints, music by its measures, economies by their budgets. Its counsel is limits with sweetness — set real boundaries on spending, time and commitments, sized so they can be kept with some grace. The text is careful: galling limitation defeats itself. The good limit is the one you can live inside for years.

Set sustainable budgets and caps — firm enough to shape behaviour, humane enough to keep without resentment.
