Before Completion
Fire over water, one step from order: the crossing almost made, asking for care.
Every line stands out of place — yet the hexagram closes the book on a note of promise, for all sixty-four turn here toward beginning again. Before Completion is the old fox crossing the ice, tail high, listening: almost over, and precisely therefore careful. Its counsel is deliberateness at the threshold — sort things to their places, verify before weight-bearing steps, and carry the near-finished thing across with full attention. The last mile is the whole art.
